The short version
We’re a licensed, insured Highlands Ranch moving company with our own trucks and our own trained crew. You get one flat written price, a $119 deposit holds your date, and the same crew loads and unloads your move.
How does your pricing work — hourly or flat?
Both, depending on the move. Local jobs run $149/hr for a 2-mover crew and truck or $199/hr for a 3-mover crew, with pads, dollies, and tools included. We also quote flat bands by home size — for example a studio runs $360–$560 and a 2-bedroom runs $1,000–$1,600. Either way, Derek gives you a flat written price before we start, so there’s no surprise on moving day.
Is there a deposit to book?
Yes, a $119 deposit locks your date, and it’s applied to your final total — it’s not an extra fee. During busy stretches like late spring and summer, that deposit is what guarantees the crew and truck you want are reserved for you.
What’s included in the price?
Your truck, the named crew, furniture pads, dollies, hand tools, shrink wrap for upholstery, and basic disassembly and reassembly of standard beds and tables. For local moves the hourly or flat rate covers the labor and the drive. What’s not included: packing materials and packing labor unless you add our packing service, and specialty items like a piano or safe, which start at $349.
Do you pack, or do I have to box everything myself?
Either works. Our full-pack service starts at $390 in materials and labor, and our crew wraps, boxes, and labels everything so the unload goes fast. Prefer to do most of it yourself? We offer partial packing — let us handle just the kitchen, the artwork, or the breakables and you box the rest.
For a long-distance move, will my stuff share a truck with someone else’s?
No. Long-distance moves from Colorado go on our own dedicated truck, just your shipment, starting at a flat $2,100 on a binding written quote. Nothing gets cross-loaded at a warehouse, so it arrives on the date we promised and nothing gets mixed up with another household’s boxes.
How are my belongings insured?
We carry up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment. The standard released-value protection is $0.60 per pound per item, which is included at no extra charge. If you want fuller coverage for high-value pieces, ask about full-value protection and we’ll add it before move day.
Are you licensed to move in Colorado?
Yes. We hold a Colorado Public Utilities Commission household-goods mover permit for moves within the state, and we carry US DOT and MC authority for interstate moves. We’re bonded and insured, and we keep all of it current — ask and we’ll show you the paperwork.
Are you a broker, a matching service, or a labor-only app?
No — none of those. Collegiate Movers is a fully licensed and insured local moving company based in Highlands Ranch, with our own five-truck fleet and our own uniformed crew. We hire, background-check, train, and pay our movers ourselves — they’re W-2 employees, not gig workers or strangers we send your way. We load, drive, and unload every job. We never hand your move off to anyone else.
Do you offer storage if my closing dates don’t line up?
Yes. We have climate-controlled short-term storage from $60 per month per vault. At 5,900 feet the dry air and temperature swings are hard on furniture sitting in an unconditioned garage, so the climate control matters more here than people expect. We’ll store it and redeliver when your new place is ready.
Can you move in winter snow, ice, and at our altitude?
We do it all season. Our crews grew up moving on the Front Range, so icy driveways, a surprise spring snowstorm, and the thin, dry air at 5,900 feet are normal to us. We salt and protect walkways, pad door frames against the cold, and plan loading around the weather instead of being caught off guard by it.
My building or HOA wants a certificate of insurance. Can you handle that?
Yes. Lone Tree condos, RidgeGate buildings, and a lot of HOA-managed Highlands Ranch communities ask for a COI before move day. Give us your property manager’s contact and the requirements, and Paige sends the certificate over ahead of time so nothing holds up your move.
How far ahead should I book?
For a weekday move in the off-season, a week or two is usually fine. For weekends, the end of the month, or anytime from May through August, give us three to four weeks if you can — those dates fill fast around South Denver. Either way, the $119 deposit is what locks it in, so call as soon as you have a date in mind.
